Try rebooting and go in as ‘Safe Mode”. By pressing F8. Once in, run Windows Defender again and try and remove it.
If this fails, download and try Spybot-Search & Destroy. I have Windows Defender & Spybot to fight against spyware.

F8 – By pressing the F8 key right when Windows starts, usually right after you hear your computer beep when you reboot it, you will be brought to a menu where you can choose to boot into safe mode. If it does not work on the first try, reboot and try again as you have to be quick when you press it. I have found that during boot up right after the computer shows you all the equipment , memory, etc installed on your computer, if you start lightly tapping the F8 key you will usually be able to get to the desired menu.

Well if you have searched this, and come back with no answers on how to clean it, bad news for you. Only thing you can do is /format c:
then reinstall everything. ALso some advice to you, stop opening exes in your mail, and stop dwlding free crap of the net. I would also advise you to buy a good antivirus program to run, Defnder is not a antivirus.

1. turn off system restore, re boot in safe mode & run windows defender, re boot if clean turn on system restore.
2. start>run>mrt & do a full scan.
mrt = Microsoft Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool
Both of these ways should work.
tips:
If a virus/trojan/spyware comes back upon re boot highly likely it was hiding in system restore, turning off system restore cleans system restore & stops it coming back upon re boot.
Used mrt the other day to remove Trojan:Win32/Alureon.gen!J & Trojan:Win32/Vundo.gen!AN

Windows Defender is not going to take care of your problem unfortunately. Vundo is probably the hardest virus on the internet to remove at the moment and unfortunately most people must buy a spyware remover to completely get rid of their problem.
Check out this site- http://www.vundo-removal.com – for a free vundo removal guide and other tips to help remove the virus. You must make sure to remove all of the parts of the virus or it will regenerate in your registry if you re-boot your computer.

You could also try going back in time, using System Restore : http://www.ecuhq.com/tricks-f6/create-a-…
If this has been happening for some time now, dont bother going back, but simply destroy all restore points, since virus may be backed up inside.
1. Click Start / Accessories / System Tools / System Restore
2. Look on the left and click on : “System Restore Settings”
3. Check a box, at : “Turn off System Restore on all drives”
4. Click Apply / Yes / Ok
5. Click Start / Accessories / System Tools / System Restore
6. Click Yes
7. Uncheck that box
8. Apply / Ok
However, it depends on how serious the problem is. Viruses are tied with system files. Once they are deleted, bits of system files might be deleted as well. That can result in corrupted programs and things just dont working as they should.
